FLAVOR OF THE MONTH11 June,2017rosemarymiller
Each flavor below includes an oldies song for your listening pleasure.
PEANUT BUTTERA tall glass of milk is a great match for any of our classic PEANUT BUTTER goodies. Savor the taste of a uniquely American flavor enjoyed since George Washington Carver developed peanut farming and began publishing recipes for peanut goodies.
CHERRYOf course, the cherry also has its own legend in American history in the story of George Washington's honesty after chopping down a cherry tree. To be honest, we know you will love our cherry goodies in February. Stop by the shop very soon!
CARAMELFor such an amazing taste, caramel is simply sugar that has been melted and browned. The ingredients vary depending on whether the caramel is hard, gooey, or soft, but two ingredients remain king: milk and sugar. That's why we feature it in March.
STRAWBERRYWe love strawberries, and April is a great time to enjoy the sweet and tart flavor combination that makes anything baked with them BERRY special. Take a break and come by the shop to see the goodies we are offering. Just stop and smell the strawberries!
CHOCOLATE CHIPIn 1937 Ruth Graves Wakefield of the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts added cut-up chunks of a semi-sweet Nestlé chocolate bar to a cookie recipe, and the rest is history. We think our chocolate chip treats are history-making, too!
BACONBacon and baked goods? Yes, it's a trend, and more and more restaurants and recipes are adding bacon. Of course, we are trendy, too! When bacon is our Flavor of the Month in June, you'll want to pig out on our bacon-infused treats, we guarantee.
LEMONIn July we celebrate the tart but lovely lemon taste as our Flavor of the Month. We all know the lyrics, Lemon tree very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet. In fact, lemon trees can produce up to 600 pounds in a year and can grow up to 20 feet tall.
APPLE Apples actually are a member of the rose family of plants, and they come in all shades of reds, greens, and yellows. As our August Flavor of the Month, the awesome apple is featured in our baked goodies that will activate your taste buds for sure.
CHOCOLATEWe know the secret to happiness is contained within chocolate. In fact, chocolate gives you a more intense mental high and gets your heart pounding more than kissing does! Just head downtown in September to get some of our sweet chocolate treats.
CANDY CORNWhy do we love candy corn? Do we just like how it looks? Maybe we like candy corn because for as long as you we remember, it’s been an indicator that fall has arrived and with it Halloween. That's why candy corn is our Flavor of the Month in October.
PUMPKINDid you know that pumpkins were once recommended for removing freckles and curing snake bites? Or that pumpkin flowers are edible? We just prefer adding this special flavor to our baked goods for special November deliciousness.
PEPPERMINTMint is the glorious plant that gives the candy of the same name its cool burst of flavor. And, of course, the peppermint flavor is a holiday favorite. We add lots of fun peppermint twists to our baked treats this month and feature it as our Flavor of the Month.
